課程概述

本課程分四大部分。第一部分為現代國家，主要使學生能認識及瞭解近年國家理論的趨勢。第二部分則探討當代發展型國家理論，檢視國家經濟、政治及社會等發展議題的相關後設理論。第三部分則探討全球化與第三世界國家發展理論與經驗，主要鎖定國際發展議題及發展理論的新趨勢。第四部分則以東亞國家發展為主題，希望透過在地及實例的觀察，檢驗前三部份的理論及經驗。

課程目標

熟悉當代發展理論、國家理論及發展型國家的趨勢，理解近代台灣、東亞及第三世界國家的國家發展經驗，並培養學生觀察及認識當代國際發展的多樣視角，進而幫助學生如何從國家及發展理論出發，尋找及研究本土、東亞及全球的國家發展議題。

1.	積極參與課程	50%	包括：1. 每單元主題週均需交心得（請當週上課時交，最多遲交2次），1-2頁，約1,200字（共11週）。2. 出席、發言（問）、互相討論及回應等。2. 至少有1週引導課堂討論：不只是報告，更要引起對話、討論、鎖定主題、設計活動、引發問題等等。
2.	期中考試	25%	Open book, 3-4題申論題。
3.	期末報告	25%	1. 第12週提出報告題目，第14週前要完成初步書目清單（約15個）。2. 至少要寫作1萬字（不含書目）。3. 高度建議報告內容與本課程讀物有關，也非常鼓勵將報告寫成碩論計畫，但均不以此限。
